Tina Knowles Details Solange's Conception And Blue Ivy's Regulations
Tina Knowles and her ex-husband, Mathew, conceived their youngest child, Solange, on the Nile River in Egypt.
The 70-year-old made the jaw-dropping confession on Vogue‘s podcast, The Run-Through. She was speaking about how she came up with the “Cranes In The Sky” singer’s name and mentioned that she got it from a baby book she bought in Paris. It was initially a gift for a friend of hers, but Knowles then ending up getting pregnant.
“I thought I was having a boy and I wanted to name him Niles. But little did I know, here came this girl,” said Knowles.
This isn’t the first time that Solange’s conception has become public knowledge. She first reflected on it back in 2017 for The Evening Standard.
“I had some revelations in terms of my parents finding out they conceived me in Egypt after visiting the Giza pyramids and [I connected] to that and the constellation of Orion that aligns with Giza,” she explained. The Bring It On: All Or Nothing star named her 2017 tour, Orion’s Rise.
While spilling the tea on her family, Knowles also addressed how Blue Ivy helps to keep her in check online. The grandmother of four admittedly finds herself liking things on social media that are actually negative about her children. She’s been called out by fans for that and Blue used to help her avoid the slip-ups.
“Every once in a while, I’ll get a call from Blue and she’ll say, ‘Grandma, that’s really wack what you just did. That’s really wack. You should delete that. Really? You should delete that,'” said the Cécred co-founder.
Despite not heeding Blue’s warning, Knowles detailed how she responded to her with wit. “Girl, I’m [already] on to the next thing,” she’d quip.
