A brand-new Halloween-themed episode of Bella and the Bulldogs airs tonight, October 28th @ 8PM ET/PT on Nickelodeon.
CS4U: Halloween is only a few days away! Do you have any costume ideas or plans you can tell us about?
Brec Bassinger: “Yes! I am that dork who plans their Halloween costume 2 months in advance (laughs)! I’m planning on being the feminine version of the Joker because I really wanted to take a typical male costume and change into the feminine version. So I was looking on Pinterest and I really liked this really cool girly joker version and that sparked the inspiration for costume. I’m constantly finding random pieces for my costume, but it’s coming together pretty good and I’m really excited about it.”
CS4U: Do you have any favorite Halloween memories from when you were younger that you could share?
Brec Bassinger: “When I was little, my mom would go out and buy a cheerleader or a princess costume for me. I would get home the night before Halloween and be like, ‘I don’t want to be a princess… I want to be a zombie dead princess.’ So on the night before Halloween, we would try to come up with some make up so I would look dead and my mom was like, ‘why can you just be pretty?’ And I was like, ‘No I want to be dead and scary!’ So my dad and I would always have a lot of fun trying to make me look evil in a princess costume.”
CS4U: What’s coming up for Bella and the rest of the cast on season two of Bella and the Bulldogs?
Brec Bassinger: “The first episode of season two premiered recently and we found out Troy (Coy Stewart) is actually moving to the rival school! There’s a lot of somber with that and that storyline gets resolved. I’m excited for everyone to see it because it’s something hasn’t happen in a while. Like one of the leads in the show is moving schools! The last time I remember that happened was in Zoey 101 when Chase left, so I think that will be a unique twist that everyone will get really excited about. Bella has some more relationship drama which I know kids always find interesting. We also have a Halloween episode coming out soon that’s fun because it sort of plays on the haunted side of Halloween, so we don’t dress up or anything. Silverado’s urban legend kind of comes up into play which is fun.”
CS4U: That sounds awesome! What can you tease about the Halloween special?
Brec Bassinger: “Every Halloween, Silverado does an annual camp out on the football field and there’s an urban legend about the school’s groundskeeper that during the camp out, becomes less of an urban legend, but more of a reality.”
CS4U: Liar, Liar Vampire premiered on Nickelodeon earlier this month and we absolutely loved it! Since we are CelebSecrets4U, is there a behind-the-scenes secret that you can share with our readers?
Brec Bassinger: “YES! Rahart Adams and I kiss at the end, but the secret is that I really didn’t kiss him! I was originally supposed to play Caitlyn and then Nickelodeon asked me to play Vi since they thought it was a better fit. When I read the script and I was like, “Oh my gosh, Vee has to kiss the guy!” I haven’t had my first kiss in real life, so I couldn’t kiss him on screen in front of a hundred people! I talked to the producers and told them that I loved the role of Vi, but I wasn’t comfortable kissing someone on-screen yet. They found a double to do the kiss, so that’s actually not me kissing Rahart!
CS4U: OH. MY. GOSH. That’s such a juicy secret!
Brec Bassinger: “I know! I want to have my first kiss at Brec before I do as a character. As soon as I get my first kiss in real-life, I won’t care who I have to kiss on-screen. There has so be some emotion to it, so once I kiss a guy in real-life, I can make the on-screen kiss look real and not like I don’t know what I’m doing.”
